Students across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are collecting Level 3 qualification results across the area today.
Sixth forms and colleges have welcomed young people receiving A Level, T Level, BTEC and vocational results before they take their next steps into university, higher education, apprenticeships, training or employment.
Councillor Richard Burton, BCP Council Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People, Education and Skills, congratulated students on their “hard work, determination and ambition” while also recognising the support provided by families, teachers, lecturers and support staff.
Lisa Linscott, BCP Council Director of Education and Skills, said the results reflected the “talent, resilience and potential” of young people, adding that there were many different pathways available to them.
Students across the wider Dorset Council area are also receiving their results, with Councillor Clare Sutton describing the occasion as “an important milestone” following their commitment throughout their studies.
Anyone whose results were not what they hoped for is encouraged to speak to their school, sixth form or college promptly to discuss possible alternatives.
Support is available for careers, apprenticeships, higher education, Clearing and routes into education, training or work for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
