A man from Bournemouth has been charged after windows at eight businesses in Southbourne were smashed in the early hours of a Sunday morning.
The incidents took place on Seabourne Road and Southbourne Grove, with the total damage estimated at more than £6,000.
Dorset Police arrested a forty-six-year-old man following their investigation into the reported criminal damage.
Officers carried out further enquiries and gathered evidence, leading to the man being charged with eight counts of criminal damage.
Police Constable Oliver Hudson said the police understand the impact incidents like this have on businesses and the costs involved.
He explained that officers worked with the victims to obtain evidence and, following their enquiries, charges have now been secured against a suspect.
The man is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court in August.
