More than 120,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions were prevented through Dorset waste recycling during 2025.
Parley based Eco Sustainable Solutions says it diverted waste from landfill while recycling 56,777 tonnes of green waste, 33,942 tonnes of food waste, 57,686 tonnes of wood waste, 52,363 tonnes of excavated soils and 20,307 tonnes of street sweepings across its Dorset operations during its 30th year.
The company, which recycles waste for both BCP Council and Dorset Council among other contracts, also generated enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 5,718 homes. It operates sites at Parley, Piddlehinton and Weymouth.
Managing Director Justin Dampney described the opening of the company’s second anaerobic digestion facility at Chapel Gate Eco Park as the “standout achievement” of 2025. He said seeing the project completed after nearly 10 years since planning permission was granted had been “one of the proudest moments” of his career.
The new plant can process 100,000 tonnes of food and liquid waste each year, producing more than 800 cubic metres of biomethane every hour for the national gas grid.
Eco also helped five charities raise £70,000 through its Christmas tree recycling initiative and donated £30,000 towards solar panels and battery storage at West Parley Community Hub.
