West Howe has reached a significant milestone with the appointment of Reverend Dan Washbrook as Independent Chair of the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.
This move is part of a community-led programme that will see up to £20 million invested in the area over the next decade, with the aim of supporting projects and improvements shaped by local residents.
Reverend Washbrook was selected following an open recruitment process that sought someone with strong local insight and a commitment to community leadership.
As Chair, he will provide strategic leadership to the Board, working closely with residents, community organisations, partners, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and the local Member of Parliament to ensure local priorities are central to decision-making.
The Neighbourhood Board will now begin engaging with residents and stakeholders to develop a long-term plan for West Howe and identify priorities for investment.
West Howe is one of three areas in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole chosen for the national Pride in Place programme, which is funded by the UK Government and aims to empower communities to shape their neighbourhoods.
