A man from Bournemouth has been charged following a fatal road traffic collision in Poole.
Dorset Police were called to Wimborne Road in Oakdale after a man was found unresponsive near the junction with Heath Avenue.
It was established that the man, identified as 26-year-old Adam McClelland, had been involved in a collision with a vehicle that did not stop at the scene.
Emergency services attended, but Adam McClelland was pronounced dead at the location.
After enquiries by the Serious Collision Investigation Team, a 51-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested and has now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.
He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.
Officers have been supporting Adam McClelland’s family and have kept them informed about the progress of the investigation.
