Roadworks continue on some of the area’s busiest routes this week.
The biggest delays are expected on Ringwood Road, where temporary traffic lights remain in place between Longham and Bear Cross, while a separate northbound closure continues in Poole until the end of August.
Drivers should also expect disruption around Richmond Park Road, which remains closed near the Wessex Way roundabout, and around Canford Magna, where several nearby closures continue as part of ongoing highway improvements.
Bournemouth
- Richmond Park Road – Road closed near Wessex Way roundabout until 17 August.
- Derby Road – Temporary traffic lights for SGN gas works until 25 September.
- Columbia Road – Temporary traffic lights for sewer connection works until 8 August.
- Hendford Road – Closed at Columbia Road for electrical works until 7 September.
- Gervis Place – Long-term road closure remains in place as town centre improvements continue.
Poole
- Ringwood Road – Northbound closure between Cynthia Road and the Old Wareham Road roundabout until 28 August.
- Upton Bypass – Overnight eastbound closures for resurfacing until 5 August.
- Queen Anne Drive – Eastbound closure between Gravel Hill and Montacute Way until 28 August.
- Canford Magna – Closure between Floral Farm and Queen Anne Drive until 28 August.
- Oakley Lane – Closed from Magna Road for maintenance until 14 August.
- Dunyeats Road – Westbound closure between Broadstone Roundabout and Gravel Hill.
- Serpentine Road – Closed for redevelopment works until 25 September.
- Bury Road – Closed between Canford Cliffs Road and Western Road until 4 September.
- Balcombe Road – Temporary traffic lights until Wednesday.
- King John Avenue – Temporary traffic lights for SGN works until 4 September.
- Wimborne Road (Stanley Green) – Temporary traffic lights until Tuesday.
Christchurch
- No major road closures are currently expected this week, although shorter utility works may still cause local delays.
Wimborne & east Dorset
- Stone Lane, Wimborne – Road closed for highway improvements until early September.
- West Borough – Temporary traffic lights while Stone Lane remains closed.
- Cranborne Road – Temporary traffic lights for emergency structural works near Stanbridge House.
- Carbery Avenue, Southbourne – Temporary traffic lights planned on Wednesday for Wessex Water works.
Works ending soon
Some disruption is expected to ease this week.
Temporary traffic lights on Ringwood Road, Wimborne Road (Stanley Green) and Balcombe Road are due to finish during the first half of the week, while the overnight resurfacing on the Upton Bypass is also scheduled to be completed.
