A leaking Southbourne seafront shower is due to be replaced when upgrade work begins next week.
Residents have raised concerns about the rinse station between Fisherman’s Walk and Southbourne, which they say has been leaking for around 8 weeks despite being reported several times to council, beach and water company staff.
David Craig said he had contacted the relevant organisations “more than 6 times” and estimated that over 24,000 litres of water had been lost, based on a flow of 100ml every 20 seconds.
BCP Council said 17 new showers will be installed along the seafront between Warren Edge and Branksome, replacing equipment that has reached the end of its operational life, with work starting on Thursday 30 July.
A council spokesperson confirmed the leaking shower will be included in the programme and said it “will be one of the first to be replaced” as the wider upgrade gets under way.
