Bournemouth’s Chicken and Blues has been recognised by PETA as one of the UK’s top ten places for vegan chicken.
The southern-style chain, which serves Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, was highlighted for its plant-based chicken tenders, as well as its crispy cauliflower wings and wraps filled with THIS Isn’t Chicken BBQ pieces and a range of sauces.
PETA’s Vice President of Vegan Corporate Projects, Dawn Carr, said the winners are offering vegan chicken that is both full of flavour and free from animal suffering.
The list also features restaurants from across the country, including Fat Hippo, Hank’s Vegan Restaurant, TastyMK, Chicken George, Bloc+, The Bok Shop, Yard and Coop, Miss Millies and 7bone.
PETA encourages people to consider vegan options, noting that chickens are intelligent animals who suffer in the meat industry. The organisation offers a free vegan starter kit for those interested in making the switch.
Major chains such as KFC, Burger King and Nando’s now offer vegan chicken nationwide, making it easier for people to choose plant-based meals.
