A man who lost his life in a collision on the A338 Wessex Way in Bournemouth has been named as Benjamin Franklin Wells-Lane.
Emergency services attended the scene between Bournemouth West Roundabout and Richmond Hill Roundabout on Friday after reports of a crash involving an electric unicycle. Benjamin, aged 46, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His wife described him as the kindest and most caring person she had ever met, saying he would do anything for those he cared about and always looked for something special in people.
The couple moved to Poole in January 2025, quickly falling in love with the area and deciding to make it their home.
Benjamin was known for his involvement with the Dorset Wildlife Trust, volunteering on Brownsea Island, and for his handyman services, making a lasting impression on many in the community.
