A woman in her 50s was confirmed dead at a flat in Paddington Grove, Bournemouth, after emergency services were called at around 2:25am.
Dorset Police have established a cordon at the address and informed the woman’s next of kin.
Officers will remain in the area throughout the day as they carry out enquiries to determine the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
The force has stated there will be an increased police presence locally and has asked the public to respect the privacy of those involved and avoid speculation on social media.
