An e-scooter rider has suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash in Bournemouth.
Emergency services were called to Wimborne Road, near the junction with Talbot Road, at 3.44am on Wednesday 24 June after reports of a collision involving an e-scooter and a car. Police officers and ambulance crews attended the scene.
The rider of the e-scooter was taken to hospital for treatment. Dorset Police said the injuries are believed to be life-threatening and enquiries are continuing to establish the rider’s next of kin.
A section of Wimborne Road has been closed while officers carry out a detailed examination of the scene. The closure is expected to remain in place while specialist investigators gather evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Dorset Police confirmed that “officers attended alongside the ambulance service” following the incident. The force also said that “enquiries are ongoing” as investigations continue.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while the road remains closed. Police enquiries into exactly what happened are continuing.
