Residents are calling on BCP Council to review bin provision along Bournemouth and Boscombe seafront.
The petition says overflowing bins have become a recurring problem during busy periods, with rubbish left beside bins and blown around by the wind.
It raises concerns about the impact on wildlife, the environment, public health and the reputation of the area as a visitor destination.
During the May bank holiday weekend, BCP Council collected 83 tonnes of litter.
The petition asks the council to identify waste hotspots, provide more bins and increase how often they are emptied.
People can sign the petition on BCP Council’s website until September 30.
