A new creativity festival will open Arts University Bournemouth’s Wallisdown campus to the public in July.
The Festival of Creativity will take place across the weekend of 4 and 5 July, running alongside the university’s Undergraduate Summer Shows and bringing together live music, live art, pop-up entertainment, independent maker markets and public workshops.
Visitors will also be able to see graduate film screenings in AUB’s new on-campus cinema, which is due to open during the weekend and will feature debut work from students at Bournemouth Film School.
The programme will include regional and emerging music acts across outdoor stages, along with creative markets selling original artwork, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, fashion and publications from independent makers.
Lisa Mann, Vice-Chancellor and CEO at AUB, said the festival was “a milestone moment” for the university as it looks to strengthen local links and highlight the value of creative education.
She said AUB would be “open to all” across the weekend, including prospective students, local businesses and neighbours who want to explore creative work in Dorset.
The festival will also include workshops, masterclasses and panel discussions led by industry speakers and academic leaders, with the weekend designed to help local businesses and creative agencies connect with emerging talent.
The Festival of Creativity takes place at AUB on Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July.
