BCP Council has not yet found a contractor to deliver the planned restoration of Bournemouth Pier.
The council received £20 million from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund in 2023, with £9.6 million allocated to pier repairs.
The work is expected to extend the pier’s lifespan by around 25 years.
Plans include concrete repairs, corrosion protection works and the removal of timber landing stages.
The project was originally due to start in winter 2024, but the latest timetable expects work to begin in autumn 2026 and take around 18 months.
Councillor Richard Herrett previously said an initial tender closed in September 2025 with no suitable bids received, and that feedback had informed a revised tender.
The council says the delay has not affected the Levelling Up funding for the project.
