Treasure Island play park in Canford Cliffs, known locally as Pirate Park, is due to reopen in June following a £130,000 upgrade.
The refurbishment includes a new pirate ship, climbing equipment, slides, sensory play features and a miniature zip wire.
Younger children will also benefit from a new play tower, balance beams and communication panel.
Accessibility improvements include adapted swings and resurfaced paths.
A reopening event will be held at the park on June 20 from 11am to 2pm, with face painting, games and entertainment organised by the Canford Cliffs Land Society.
Councillor John Challinor said the upgraded park would keep its distinctive nautical theme while offering modern play equipment for local families and visitors.
