Paul O’Boyle, from Branksome, is set to run almost 105 miles in one day to support the Ladybird Unit at Poole Hospital.
On July 4, he plans to complete eight laps of the Bournemouth Bay Half Marathon route, starting from Bournemouth Pier Approach.
Paul was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2024 after noticing unusual symptoms and being referred to the Ladybird Unit.
Following surgery and treatment, he was given the all-clear and says he wanted to do something significant to thank the NHS team who cared for him.
He also hopes to raise awareness of breast cancer symptoms in men and encourage people to seek medical advice early.
Paul, known as the “Marathon Man”, previously took up endurance running after surviving a serious hit-and-run collision in 2015.
Over the years he has completed ultra-distance races, including 27 marathons in 26 days and the South West Coast Path challenge.
He is aiming to raise £10,000 for patients treated by the Ladybird Unit through JustGiving.
