Boscombe car park charges may increase

Parking charges at Boscombe Undercliff Car Park could rise under new plans from BCP Council.

The council is consulting on proposed changes at the seafront car park, which is close to Boscombe beach and local amenities, alongside separate proposals affecting on-street parking charges on roads in Sandbanks.

At the moment, Boscombe Undercliff Car Park has different charging periods through the year and only operates until midnight, with tariffs changing between the summer, spring and autumn, and winter periods.

Under the proposals, the car park would operate 24 hours a day throughout the year, with a maximum stay of 24 hours introduced for drivers using the site.

A new seasonal structure would apply, with one tariff running from 15 March to 31 October and a separate winter tariff in place from 1 November to 14 March.

Residents can comment on, support or object to the proposal during the consultation, which remains open until 29 May.
