Restaurant fire in West Borough Wimborne

A fire at a property in Wimborne town centre prompted a responce from the emergency services on Monday night.

Police and fire crews were called to West Borough after flames were seen coming from the roof of the Rosemary restaurant.

DW Fire and Rescue Service told Bournemouth One: “We were called to reports of a fire affecting a commercial property. Crews from Wimborne (x2), Poole (x2), Westbourne, Redhill Park, a command unit from Hamworthy, the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne and a water carrier from Poole attended.

“On arrival, firefighters found a fire affecting the roof of the property. Breathing apparatus wearers are using main lines and hose reel jets to extinguish.”

10.30pm update: “A total of eight breathing apparatus wearers used two main lines and four hose reel jets to extinguish and the incident has now been scaled back to three appliances.”

Bournemouth One kept listeners updated with road closures, which included West Borough itself, and The Square.
