Hospital buggies in Bournemouth will continue helping patients and visitors move around the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site.
PRC Streamline has sponsored the electric patient transportation buggies funded by University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, helping the service continue for people attending appointments or visiting friends and relatives across the hospital.
The charity has funded 2 electric buggies at the site since 2022. They are driven by University Hospitals Dorset volunteers and provide a free service for patients, visitors and anyone who needs support.
Nicky Smith, director of PRC Streamline Taxis, said the company was “very happy” to support the charity and help patients get around the hospital grounds more easily.
She said the business already offers discounted fares for people travelling to hospitals in the area, and said it was an “honour” to help people with mobility once they arrive.
Hayley Harris, corporate fundraiser for University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, said the buggies help people get from cars or buses to appointments.
She said the sponsorship means the service can continue to be “free, friendly and quick” for those who need it most.
PRC Streamline has worked with University Hospitals Dorset for many years, including transporting equipment and helping NHS colleagues travel between sites in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
