Dorset Police is investigating an attempted theft of a cash machine in Wimborne.
The incident happened between 3.10am and 3.25am on Wednesday at a BP petrol station on Leigh Road.
Two men, dressed in black with their faces covered, arrived in a silver or grey van, believed to be a Ford Transit, and tried to remove the ATM.
No money is thought to have been stolen, and the suspects left the scene heading towards Canford Bottom Roundabout.
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward.
