CCTV appeal after bank card theft

Dorset Police is appealing for information following a bank card theft and fraud incident in Christchurch.

The offence happened at around 9.50am on Saturday March 28 at a cash machine inside Lloyds Bank on Castle Street.

A woman in her eighties was targeted while withdrawing money.

Police say one man watched as she entered her PIN, before distracting her by dropping cash on the floor.

During the distraction, a second man swapped her bank card with another.

More than £4,000 was later withdrawn fraudulently.

Officers have now released CCTV images of two men they would like to identify.

Police are reminding people to stay vigilant at cash machines, cover their PIN and be aware of suspicious behaviour.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police quoting the relevant reference number or report anonymously via Crimestoppers.
