New leadership elected at chamber AGM

A new leadership team has been elected to guide Bournemouth’s business community forward.

Members at the Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce annual meeting voted in a refreshed Board of Directors, bringing in a younger and more diverse group aimed at reflecting businesses across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and supporting future growth.

Nigel Hedges was re-elected as President for 2026 and 2027, and confirmed Robert Head and Christian Farah as Vice Presidents, both aged 30, highlighting what he described as a clear focus on developing the next generation of leaders.

Sona Madan was also appointed as Treasurer, bringing professional accounting experience including work with one of the London Big Four firms, adding further expertise to the leadership team as it takes on the next phase.

Bournemouth One’s afternoon announcer and Solutions Manager Lorna Child has also been voted on as Chairperson.

The meeting also recognised the contribution of Bill Perkins, a former President and retiring Treasurer, who was thanked for 25 years of service, with members acknowledging his long standing commitment to the Chamber.
