Ambulance staff run half marathon for charity

Three ambulance staff from Dorset will run the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise funds.

Pip Jarvis, Ed Tindall and Eloise Leonard from the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust will take part in the 13.1 mile event on 12 April 2026, joining thousands of runners on a route through central London.

The colleagues are raising money for the South Western Ambulance Charity, which supports the wellbeing of ambulance staff and volunteers while funding projects that strengthen community engagement and provide help beyond core NHS services.

Newly qualified paramedic Eloise Leonard said supporting the charity through the run is both exhilarating and a little intimidating, adding that the challenge is a personal one where she will be pushing herself for an important cause.

Louise Walsh from the South Western Ambulance Charity said training for an event like this requires real commitment alongside demanding frontline roles, and every pound raised will help deliver initiatives supporting ambulance teams, volunteers and communities across the South West.

Each runner is fundraising individually to support the charity’s work.
