Seafront pub begins new chapter in town
A Bournemouth seafront pub has reopened with a new focus on community and year-round visitors.
Previously known as Sixty Million Postcards, The Sun has returned after extensive refurbishment, bringing updated interiors with warm tones, dark woods and gold touches, alongside traditional seating and herringbone timber in a space designed for drinkers and diners alike.
New seating areas have been created for families, while cosy corners, snug spaces and tables beside large screens offer room for celebrations, group gatherings and sport, giving neighbours, beachgoers and other visitors different ways to use the pub.
Outside, the refurbished terrace includes planters, refreshed beach huts and a large awning, creating what the venue describes as an “all-season space” for people stopping by after a walk or meeting friends near the sea.
The menu centres on seasonal British gastro dishes, daily specials and sharing plates, with items including Crispy Mozzarella, Miso Chicken Skewers and Handmade Scotch Egg, while Sunday roasts remain part of the offer as the pub begins its “new chapter” in Bournemouth.
