Reform UK gains third BCP councillor

Reform UK has gained a third councillor on Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council following a defection.

It was announced at a full council meeting on March 24 that Councillor Gillian Martin has joined the party.

Councillor Martin was elected in 2023 as a Labour councillor representing Boscombe West.

She left the Labour group in summer 2025 and has since been sitting as an independent.

Her move means Reform UK now has three councillors on BCP Council.

Councillors Cameron Adams and Duane Farr both joined Reform UK after leaving other groups in October 2025.

The council has seen several changes in political affiliation in recent months.

Earlier this year, Councillor Rachel Pattinson-West left the Liberal Democrats to join the Green Party, becoming the first Green councillor in Poole.

Reform UK has been contacted for comment following the latest defection.
