Paddling pools set to reopen across BCP

Public paddling pools across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are preparing to reopen for summer.

Four popular splash areas will welcome families back during the warmer months following joint work between BCP Council and community partners to get the facilities ready.

Redhill and Hamworthy Park paddling pools will reopen on Saturday 23 May in time for the bank holiday weekend, offering children places to cool off and play outdoors.

Littledown Park’s paddling pool, operated by BH Live in partnership with BCP Council, is also preparing to reopen in May 2026 within the park’s wider green space.

Christchurch’s Quomps Splash Park, now run by Christchurch Town Council, is planning a reopening later in May, giving families a place to enjoy water play close to the Quay.

Councillor Millie Earl said the paddling pools are valued community facilities and added she was pleased they will be available again for families during the summer months.

She thanked council teams and local partners for the work involved in preparing the pools for the new season.
