New airport restaurant opens at BOH
A new restaurant has opened at Bournemouth Airport ahead of the busy Easter getaway period.
Bourne and Acre Bar and Kitchen has launched next to the main departure lounge after a 9 week refurbishment of the airport’s former restaurant space, creating a new dining area with around 300 covers inspired by the River Bourne and Bournemouth’s gardens.
The venue serves food throughout the day, from breakfasts to pre flight meals, with a children’s menu, plant based options and a bar offering alcoholic, low alcohol and no alcohol drinks, as the airport continues a wider programme of investment.
SSP UK and Ireland said the opening was its first major food and drink development at the airport and part of a plan to improve the passenger experience with more choice, while giving the space a “distinctively local feel” and a “strong sense of place”.
Airport managing director Steve Gill said the opening was “another important step” in Bournemouth Airport’s transformation after improvements including new security screening, expanded check in, a larger baggage reclaim hall and more than 800 extra parking spaces.
