Poole BID backed for new five year term
Poole’s Business Improvement District will continue after businesses backed a new 5 year plan.
Results of a ballot announced by BCP Council show 83% of levy payers supported renewing the BID for the period 2026 to 2031.
The scheme raises around £350000 each year from local businesses to fund projects and initiatives in Poole town centre.
The next phase of the BID will begin this summer, with new projects expected to launch later in 2026.
Key priorities set out in the new business plan include A Safer, Stronger Poole, Pride in Place, Promoting Poole and Supporting Growth.
Rob Brown, chair of Poole BID, said the result provides “a clear mandate to continue delivering the priorities set out in the business plan”.
Chief executive Jacqui Rock said the organisation will now focus on delivering the programme while continuing to work with businesses, BCP Council, Dorset Police and other partners.
BCP Council chief executive Aidan Dunn said Business Improvement Districts play an important role in supporting town centres.
