Christchurch recycling centre to close for repairs

Christchurch Recycling Centre will close for several days for essential maintenance.

BCP Council says the site will shut from Tuesday 24 March until Friday 27 March so teams can carry out repair works to improve safety for residents visiting the facility.

The work will focus on the central operations yard where household waste skips are stored, with crews repairing cracks, potholes, loose kerbs and uneven surfaces across the site.

While the repairs are underway the council will also carry out a deep clean and repaint parts of the recycling centre.

Residents normally do not need to book to use the Christchurch facility but must show proof they live in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole before disposing of items such as garden waste, metals, electricals, furniture and other household materials.

Councillor Andy Hadley said the work will help make visits to the recycling centre “a safer and smoother experience for our residents”.

During the closure residents can still use recycling centres in Bournemouth on Ringwood Road and in Poole on Nuffield Road.
