AFC Bournemouth Women score six away
A dominant Bournemouth performance saw six goals and a clean sheet in emphatic win on Sunday.
Bournemouth took control early when Jenna Markham headed in from Katie James’ dangerous delivery after 8 minutes, before Georgia Wilson doubled the lead soon after by meeting another James corner to give the visitors firm control of the match.
James extended the advantage in the 27th minute with a powerful strike from outside the area, and Sophie Quirk quickly added another after a strong run down the wing from Kelci Bowers as Bournemouth’s attacking pressure continued to cause problems.
Quirk struck again just 4 minutes later to make it 5 before the break, calmly finishing past the goalkeeper as the visitors dominated the first half and created several chances while Cheltenham struggled to contain the pace and movement.
The forward completed her hat trick midway through the second half with a composed finish following a swift run, sealing a convincing victory as Bournemouth remained in control and secured another clean sheet and 3 points.
Manager Helen Bleazard said it was a “really pleasing performance from the squad” and praised the team for executing the plan, adding that their strong attitude in training and during the match showed the commitment and desire within the group.
