Poole robbery pair sentenced after attack
A man has been jailed after a violent robbery targeting a victim in Poole park.
Callum Giddins, aged 22 and of Wimborne, was sentenced to three years in prison at Bournemouth Crown Court on Wednesday 4 March 2026 after being found guilty of robbery following a trial.
The incident happened at around 2pm on Monday 17 October 2022 when Giddins and 19 year old Casper Blackmore approached the victim from behind while he was sitting on a bench in Merley Park Road. They grabbed him by the back of the neck and punched him several times before stealing his iPhone and leaving the area.
The victim suffered a head laceration which required medical treatment. Detectives launched an investigation and, as both offenders were known to the victim, they were identified as suspects. The assault was also captured on CCTV.
Blackmore, from Wimborne, admitted the robbery and received an 18 month prison sentence suspended for two years for his role in the attack.
Detective Constable Steven Davis of BCP CID said the victim had been sitting on a bench minding his own business when he was targeted. He said the man suffered a violent assault, had his phone stolen and was left with a head injury requiring treatment, adding that officers were pleased the offenders had been brought to justice.
