AUB confirms permanent vice chancellor

A new permanent Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer has been confirmed in Bournemouth.

Arts University Bournemouth has appointed Lisa Mann to the role from 1 March 2026, after she had been serving in the position on a temporary basis since December 2024, following the retirement of Professor Paul Gough.

Lisa joined AUB in December 2022 as Executive Director of Innovation and was promoted to Deputy Vice Chancellor in 2024, where she led the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses and introduced a new undergraduate school focused on leadership and management within the arts and creative industries.

Before moving to Bournemouth, she held senior roles in higher education including Head of Higher Education at the Fashion Retail Academy and Principal Academic Director at Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design, helping to expand academic portfolios and launch new programmes.

Lisa said it was “a great honour” to be appointed, adding that the university has worked to “evolve, innovate and grow”, while Chair of Governors Dorothy Mackenzie said the Board is confident she has the leadership required to guide AUB through its forthcoming strategy and ensure its long term sustainability.
