Secondary school offers made to BCP families
Almost all families in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have secured one of their preferred secondary schools for September 2026, according to figures released today by BCP Council.
On National Offer Day, Monday 2 March 2026, the council confirmed that 96.8 per cent of applicants were offered a place at one of their preferred schools, with 86 per cent receiving their first choice. A total of 3,772 families applied for a secondary school place before the 31 October 2025 deadline, and every child whose parents applied on time has been allocated a school.
Parents and carers who submitted applications online can log in from 10am to view their offer, while letters are being sent to all who applied by the closing date.
Councillor Richard Burton, Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People, said: āIām delighted that so many families across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have received an offer at one of their preferred secondary schools this year. Starting secondary school is a milestone for every young person, and we work hard to make this process as smooth and supportive as possible for families.ā
