Bournemouth brothers charged with drugs offences

Two brothers from Bournemouth have been charged with drug offences following arrests by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit last month.

Zakaria El Basir, twenty two, of Post Office Road, Bournemouth, has been charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis and possession of a noxious substance, identified as pepper spray. Sami El Basir, twenty, of Westcliffe Gardens, Bournemouth, has been charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis.

The pair, who are brothers, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on eighteen February. Zakaria El Basir was remanded in custody and is due to appear next at Bournemouth Crown Court on nineteen March. Sami El Basir was remanded until a bail hearing can take place.

The charges follow action taken by officers from the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit as part of their work tackling organised crime in the area.
