More floods and heavy rain across BCP

Flashback: Flooding at Sandbanks in Poole

Heavy rain is causing floods on the roads across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and east Dorset once again.

Reports are coming in of roads being just passable into the evening on Wednesday, with some roads expected to be blocked by flood water on Thursday morning.

A Yellow Warning of heavy rain has been issued by the Met Office, in force till 8am Thursday.

Roads suffering from high water levels at the time of publication include:

  • Ham Lane and Stapehill
  • Bakers Arms Roundabout – road is closed westbound off the roundabout on Dorchester Road
  • Magna Road near the Hamworthy Club
  • Ringwood Road at Longham (Longum) Bridge
  • Harewood Ave
  • Holt Road near the Old Inn
  • Station Road at West Moors – traffic lights have been removed but traffic is taking turns
  • Leigh Road in Wimborne near the new housing
  • Parley Lane past the airport and parts of Matchams
  • Boundary Lane at St Leonards
  • Christchurch Bypass near Purewell
  • Iford Lane near Seafield Road
  • Canford Cliffs Road and Links Road
  • Verwood Road at Ringwood
  • Banks Road at Sandbanks
