Police are appealing for witnesses and potential victims following a reported incident involving an imitation firearm in Bournemouth.

Officers were called shortly before 9pm on Tuesday 10 February 2026 to reports of a disturbance outside BBQ Express in Wimborne Road. It was reported that a man had been seen with what was believed to be a firearm before leaving the scene.

He was stopped by officers in Elmes Road, where a BB gun was located nearby and he was reportedly found in possession of suspected cannabis.

An 18 year old local man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, affray and possession of a class B drug. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Tara Pressey, of BCP CID, said officers are continuing to investigate and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or captured dashcam or CCTV footage. She added that three men who were present and may have been threatened are yet to be identified and urged them to come forward.
