Morebus raises £57,700 for Dorset hospitals charity
Morebus has raised £57,700 for University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity over two years, supporting patients at Royal Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch hospitals.
The local bus operator chose the charity as its corporate good cause for 2024 and 2025, with staff voting for the organisation. Funds and awareness campaigns have helped enhance treatment and care by paying for additional equipment, research, innovations and improvements beyond core NHS funding.
Nikki Honer, head of communications at Morebus, said: “University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity is a crucial local resource, helping to pay for additional equipment, research and innovations, as well as finishing touches and extras that complement the existing high quality care for patients across the three towns.
“Our corporate charity is voted for by the Morebus team. Many of my colleagues have benefited directly from the support University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity provides, so we are thrilled to have been able to raise almost £58,000 towards this vital resource.”
Hayley Harris, corporate fundraiser for University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, said the total would support projects including the new maternity department and a new CT scanner in the BEACH Building at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Morebus will now fundraise for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as its corporate charity for 2026 and 2027.
