Poole police appeal after deliberate car fire

Police are appealing for witnesses after a vehicle fire in Perry Gardens in Poole was believed to have been started deliberately.

Dorset Police received a report at 5.48pm on Friday 13 February 2026 and officers attended with the fire service, who extinguished the blaze and confirmed the cause was suspected to be deliberate.

A white Audi A3 was damaged beyond repair and a second vehicle parked nearby sustained minor damage as a result of the incident.

Police Constable Harvey Trehane, of Poole police, said officers are continuing to investigate and urged anyone with information to come forward. He said he was particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a man carrying a green jerry can in Green Road, Whatleigh Close or South Road between around 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
