A new joint plan has been launched to help residents across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and Dorset find work, build skills and improve their health and wellbeing.
Dorset Council, BCP Council, NHS Dorset and the Department for Work and Pensions have come together to deliver the Get Dorset and BCP Working Plan, a shared commitment to strengthen employment and training support across the area.
The plan brings local organisations together to make it easier for people to find the right help for work or training, support those with health conditions or other barriers, and help young people gain the skills they need to secure jobs. It also aims to build a fairer and more resilient Dorset.
Councillor Richard Biggs, Dorset Council’s Cabinet member for economic growth, said the plan will ensure partners work together to support residents into work or training and connect health, skills and employment support in a way that works for local people.
Councillor Millie Earl, leader of BCP Council, said the ambition is to deliver better and faster support, bring more people into good jobs and help residents develop high demand skills, with collaborative working at the heart of the approach.
