AFC Bournemouth sign Jiménez permanently

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that Alex Jiménez has completed a permanent move after meeting the appearance threshold in his loan agreement.

The 20-year-old defender, who arrived at the Vitality Stadium ahead of the current campaign, has featured in more than half of the club’s competitive matches, activating a clause that secures his future on the south coast until 2031.

Jiménez joined from AC Milan, having previously developed through the academy at Real Madrid, and has established himself as a regular in red and black during his first season in English football.

He claimed the club’s Player of the Month award for December and was named Sky Sports’ Man of the Match following the 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion. His first Premier League goal came against Liverpool.

President of Football Operations Tiago Pinto said Jiménez had shown “energy and commitment” and described him as a young talent with strong pedigree. He added that the club are pleased to continue the project that began last summer.

Jiménez will retain the number 20 shirt.
