Ford honours Dorset dealer community work

A Dorset-based motor retail leader has been recognised globally for long-standing community work and local charitable support.

Paul Hendy, Chief Executive Officer of the Hendy Group, was named as one of eight worldwide honourees at Ford Motor Company’s Salute to Dealers event in Las Vegas, becoming the only recipient from the UK and Europe.

The recognition highlighted charitable activity linked to Dorset and the wider south, with Ford also confirming further backing for the Hendy Foundation, which supports community organisations connected to the group’s Ford dealerships.

The Salute to Dealers programme was established more than two decades ago to acknowledge dealer leaders who demonstrate community involvement alongside business leadership.

The Hendy Group has supported local causes for generations, with the Hendy Foundation created in 2018 to focus fundraising and charitable giving across areas where the business operates, including Dorset.

Paul Hendy said the honour reflected a long family tradition of giving back and thanked colleagues, volunteers and community partners for their continued commitment.

Lisa Brankin, Chair and Managing Director of Ford of Britain and Ireland, said the recognition reflected sustained work supporting communities across the south coast.
