Bournemouth sign Mandas on loan

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of Greek goalkeeper Christos Mandas on loan from Serie A side Lazio until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old joins the Cherries after establishing himself at senior level in Italy, where he has made 33 first team appearances since arriving at Lazio in 2023 from OFI in Greece. He has also earned two senior international caps and represented his country at every youth level from under sixteen.

The move adds further competition and depth to Bournemouth’s goalkeeping options as the club looks to maintain momentum through the second half of the campaign.

AFC Bournemouth’s Head of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto, said Mandas would add “real strength and quality” to the squad, highlighting his experience at club and international level.

Mandas said joining the club was “an amazing feeling” and described the move as a dream opportunity, adding that the atmosphere around the club and the way the team plays made it the right decision.

He becomes the first AFC Bournemouth player from Greece and will wear the number 29 shirt.
