Pedestrian left seriously injured after collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian in Bournemouth.

Officers were called to Austin Close at around 9.35am on Saturday following a collision between a brown Honda Jazz and a man on foot. The pedestrian, aged in his fifties, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where his condition is believed to be life threatening.

Dorset Police confirmed that specialist officers are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident. Enquiries are continuing at the scene and in the surrounding area.

Police Constable Dan Yates, from the Roads Policing Team, said officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has not yet spoken to police. He also said investigators would like to review any dashcam footage that may show the vehicles or pedestrian shortly before the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online, by email, or by calling 101 and quoting the relevant occurrence number. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers.
