King’s honours for Dorset residents

Several Dorset residents have been recognised in the King’s New Year Honours List for their outstanding contributions to business, community, defence and charitable work.

Among those honoured is Simon Peter Boyd, Managing Director of John Reid and Sons Limited, REIDSteel, who receives an OBE for services to British steel manufacturing and to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Andrew Iain Scraggs, Navy Logistics Commodities Team Leader, Royal Navy, also receives an OBE for services to defence.

Four Bournemouth residents are recognised this year. Tea Colaianni, Founder and Chair of WiHTL and Diversity in Retail, receives an MBE for her work promoting inclusion across the hospitality, travel, leisure and retail sectors.

Samantha Everard, Founder and Chief Executive of Support and Mentoring Enabling Entrepreneurship and Chair of the South West Regional Stakeholder Network, is also awarded an MBE for her work supporting people with disabilities.

David John Trenchard, lately Chair of Leatherbarrow Removals and Storage, receives an MBE for his charitable work and community service in Bournemouth.

From Poole, Captain (Rtd) David John Larcombe is recognised with an MBE for voluntary service to veterans as Branch Chair and National Association Trustee of the Royal Tank Regiment Association.

Completing the list is Andrew William Dewhurst of Christchurch, who receives the British Empire Medal for charitable service as Co-Founder of the Barking Badgers Cycling Club.
