Late Burnley goal denies AFCB win
AFC Bournemouth were forced to settle for a one-one draw after conceding a late equaliser against Burnley following a second-half lead at full time.
After a goalless first half that saw Bournemouth create several chances through David Brooks, Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier, the breakthrough finally arrived just after the hour when Antoine Semenyo struck from outside the box, sending a right footed effort into the bottom corner to give the home side the advantage.
Burnley increased the pressure as the match moved towards the closing stages, winning a series of corners and forcing Bournemouth deeper, before Armando Broja headed in from close range in the ninetieth minute after a cross from Marcus Edwards to level the score.
Bournemouth responded with urgency in added time, with Marcos Senesi and Amine Adli both going close with headers, while sustained pressure in the final moments kept Burnley pinned back, but no further goals followed.
The match ended level after five minutes of added time, with Bournemouth unable to convert late chances into a winning goal despite a strong second half display.
