Man stabbed in Boscombe Gardens

A man is in hospital after being assaulted in Boscombe, with detectives appealing for witnesses or information following the incident late last night.

Officers were called at 9.42pm on Thursday 18 December after a man was found injured in Drummond Road, with reports he had been stabbed a short time earlier in Boscombe Gardens, prompting emergency services to attend and secure the area while initial enquiries were carried out.

The victim, a man aged in his twenties, was taken to hospital for treatment and police have confirmed his injuries are not life threatening or life changing, while a cordon was put in place to allow detectives to carry out detailed scene examinations and establish the sequence of events leading up to the assault.

Detective Inspector Jon Sainsbury of BCP CID said a full investigation is underway to understand what happened and identify the offender, adding that officers believe there were a number of people in the area at the time and their information could prove important to the enquiry.

He said there would be an increased police presence locally and encouraged anyone with information or concerns to speak with an officer, as detectives continue work in Boscombe to gather evidence and reassurance patrols remain visible.
