Christmas appeal returns to YMCA Bournemouth

YMCA Bournemouth has launched its yearly appeal to support residents in supported housing and people experiencing homelessness across Dorset.

The nineteenth Prezzies for Rezzies campaign is running with the HealthBus Trust, encouraging people to donate new, unwrapped items so staff can prepare a personal gift package for each person.

Last year one hundred and five residents and fifteen people experiencing homelessness received gifts.

Mark Inkpen said many people supported by the charity have no one else to give them a present and added that donations are often the only gifts they receive at Christmas.

Suggested items include warm clothing, toiletries, stationery, small hobbies, puzzles, games and shop vouchers.

Donations can be dropped off at collection points across Dorset, including:

  • YMCA Bournemouth, Delta House, BH1 2BS (open 24 hours; donations accepted until 24 December)
  • The Junction, Broadstone, BH18 8AX (until 22 December)
  • Bayside Fitness Club, BH15 3SY (until 22 December)
  • Stourvale Centre, BH6 5JB (until 22 December)
  • Bournemouth Railway Station, BH8 8HX (until 22 December)
