Treecycling service to return in January
It’s still 50 days till Christmas but bookings have already opened on a tree collection and recycling scheme operated by Diverse Abilities.
Residents across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, East Dorset and Ringwood can now book their slot for January to make sure their tree gets collected between the 8th and 11th.
Francesca Potton, community fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, said the initiative has become a major fundraiser for the charity. “By booking to have your Christmas tree collected, you can help us raise vital funds to run our services that support children and adults with disabilities across Dorset.”
Waste Management Facilities will again provide logistical support and a volunteer team during the collection weekend. Managing director Lisa Delahunty said they are proud to continue supporting the project and the work it funds in the local community.
Diverse Abilities is also looking for volunteers to join the Treecycling team. Families and businesses with vehicles such as vans or pickup trucks are encouraged to get involved.
Bookings can be made at diverseabilities.org.uk/trees, where full details of collection areas are available.
