Poole man in critical condition after crash

A man aged 24 from Poole is in hospital with life threatening injuries after a collision on the A3049 Dorset Way eastbound before the Old Wareham Road roundabout on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called at 4.26pm following a crash involving a blue Kawasaki motorbike and a red Jeep Avenger, with the road closed while emergency services attended the scene and carried out enquiries.

Long delays were experienced in the area on surrounding roads, including Dorset Way past Tower Park, and the Fleetsbridge Roundabout.

Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries and I would ask anyone with dashcam footage, who has not spoken with police yet, to please come forward.”

He added: “I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or saw the manner of driving or riding beforehand.”

Officers are seeking anyone who was travelling on the eastbound carriageway at the time and who may have recorded relevant footage to assist the investigation.
