Cherries celebrate 100th Premier League win

AFC Bournemouth marked their 100th Premier League win in style with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Vitality Stadium.

Captain Marcus Tavernier put the Cherries ahead midway through the first half when his corner flew straight into the net — his second goal of the season on his 99th club appearance.

Teenager Junior Kroupi doubled the lead five minutes before half-time, collecting the ball near the halfway line before unleashing a powerful 25-yard strike past Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels.

Bournemouth dominated the opening half with energy and precision, creating multiple chances through Justin Kluivert, Alex Scott and Antoine Semenyo. Forest’s best effort came from Neco Williams, whose drive was pushed away by goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović.

The second half was tighter, with Petrović producing a fine one-handed save to deny Morgan Gibbs-White and substitute David Brooks going close at the other end.

There was a warm reception for returning striker Enes Ünal, who came on as a late substitute after a long injury layoff.

Victory takes Andoni Iraola’s team into second place in the Premier League table — a milestone moment as the Cherries continue their strong start to the season.
